academics department
The Academics Department plays a crucial role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for all students. The committee is headed by Mr. Watene Wanjohi. The members are: Sr. Annastacia, Mr. James Muchina and Md. Esther Otwori We work closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure that every student has the resources and support they need to succeed both academically and personally. Our school is privileged to have 296 students both in the Junior and Senior school. Our learners sit for three exams in a term. They also participate in academic competitions. In the year 2023, our first group of candidates sat for their national examinations and registered impeccable results. ---proceeded to university while the rest joined colleges and TVETS. Nine students got direct entry to university in the year 2024. We hold academic clinics which aim at supporting student academic needs. These clinics have fostered strong communication between the school and families, contributing to a more cohesive student support system.

science department
The Bishop Ndingi Secondary School science department is dedicated to exploring the world through research, innovation teaching and hands-on learning. The team members are: Mr. Watene Wanjohi, Mr. Gidion Langat, Mr. Robert Chirchir, Md. Aurelix Akinyi, Md.Mercy Murgor and Md. June Sumba Our school is equipped with three laboratory facilities (Chemistry, Biology, Physics) which are well equipped for academic inquiry and which are maintained with highest standard of efficiency. We encourage collaboration and creativity offering a space where students can engage in practical experiments, develop critical thinking skills and contribute to groundbreaking research.

mathematics department
The Mathematics Department at BNSS plays an important role in providing students with a comprehensive understanding of mathematical concepts and skills. The Head of Department is Mr. Kenneth Cheruiyot and the other members are: Mr. Dominic Kimutai, and Md. Mercy Murgor. Our main goal is to grow our learners’ confidence and to value mathematics and to achieve this, we have a mathematics club where learners participate in weekly activities hence promoting performance and creativity. We also participate in internal and external mathematics contest and in 2024 we produced the best student during the regional contests.

languages department
The languages department is composed of dedicated, qualified, experienced and enthusiastic teachers who undertake their duties diligently. Our team has achieved great results through team work, strong functional discussion groups of learners, topical revision questions for all classes, administering of full exams, encouraging live performance of set books and organizing contests and symposia. The languages offered are English, Kiswahili and French. We are enriched with teaching and learning resources that promote efficient and effective learning. Our learning is also technology integrated with the use of interactive boards and a computer laboratory. Our learners also participate in debates and mijadala hence linguistic proficiency.

humanities department
The Humanities Department at BNSS is integral to fostering a well-rounded education that emphasizes critical thinking, cultural understanding, and effective communication. Through a diverse curriculum, innovative teaching methods, and vibrant extracurricular activities, the department prepares students for academic success and lifelong learning. The subjects offered are Geography, History and Government, Social Studies and Christian Religious Education. The department employs diverse instructional strategies to cater to different learning styles and enhance student engagement through Discussion-Based Learning to Encourage critical thinking and through technology integration by use of interactive boards to improve performance. The Humanities Club offers students opportunities to explore their interests outside of the classroom.

It serves as a vital resource center, providing access to a wide range of materials and information. The library maintains a diverse collection of books, periodicals, digital resources, and multimedia materials to support various subjects and interests. The library offers a conducive environment for studying and quiet reading, encouraging a culture of learning and inquiry. The Librarian collaborates with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum, enhancing educational outcomes. The Library Department is essential for fostering a love of learning, enhancing research skills, and providing valuable resources that support the academic journey of students at Bishop Ndingi Schools. It contributes significantly to the overall educational experience, encouraging lifelong learning and intellectual curiosity.
